Disheartening Shift from Relationship to Transaction—Price Hikes with Diluted Service

As a long-term professional client, we have stayed loyal to TaxAct for years. However, the company has fundamentally dismantled the relationship-driven model that once made them great. They recently terminated the dedicated sales representatives who used to understand our practice and engage with us directly. In their place, communication has turned into an automated afterthought. For instance, we received an important promotional campaign email exactly one day before it expired, making it impossible to plan around. This service dilution trickles down into their technical support: Long wait times during critical periods, frequent, frustrating escalations for standard queries, incorrect advice that requires internal double-checking. TaxAct is no longer competitive on price. They are missing features that their key competitors readily provide, yet they continue to raise renewal rates aggressively. By pricing above the market while watering down the actual software value and service, they are actively forcing our hand. We are currently planning our migration to a competitor.
