To create a new TaxACT Online account you may use the instructions below. Please note that there is not a way within a current account to start over or create a second return for a second individual within the same account.
Go to the TaxACT website
Choose from the Free Federal, Deluxe Federal, or Ultimate Bundle
Click the Start Free Return or Start Free Now for the product you select
Enter your registration information and click Start Free Return
You are now ready to start entering your tax return information. You can choose to use the Federal and State Q&A entry or navigate through your return using the Menus or Site Map. You can also search for an interview topic using the Q&A Search.
If you used TaxACT Online last year, you may also choose to import your return information from last year.
