Importing from Another Tax Program
TaxACT can import data from PDF files of 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ returns prepared by the following software: TurboTax® and H&R Block At Home®.
In order to do so, you will simply need to export your return from that other program into a file with the Portable Document Format (PDF) which is readable using the Adobe Reader program. TaxACT will import information appearing on your 1040, 1040A, or 1040EZ form, saving time and minimizing errors.
In order to complete the PDF import, simply follow the instructions for the TaxACT program you are using:

- You will be asked, Did you use TaxACT last year? You should click on "New User Start" as indicated below:
- At the next screen, indicate that you have a PDF copy of your 2012 tax return by clicking "Browse" as indicated:
- Navigate to the location of your PDF copy of the 2012 return and click Open.
