The TaxACT Desktop programs and the returns associated with these programs follow a standard naming convention. In order to locate your files, you can simply perform a Windows Search for the files following these guidelines.
NOTE: The file names below assume that the tax year is 2010. If you are looking for files associated with a different tax year, replace the last digits of the file name to the last digits of the filing year.
The downloaded installation program will be in a self-extracting executable file. To locate this file, simply perform a Windows search through all files and folders for ta10*.exe. Windows will then locate all files associated with the install of the TaxACT program.
Please Note: If you have downloaded several TaxACT programs, you should look for the file with the most recent modified date, which indicates the date of download.
