Please make note of your username, password, and the answers to your security questions and keep them on file for future access to your TaxAct account. Due to stringent security measures, our agents cannot provide passwords or answers to security questions.

If you've forgotten your username and/or password you can return to the Sign In page and click the Forgot Username or Password? link.

If you've forgotten or misplaced your password and don't remember the answer to the security questions being presented to you, complete the following steps to receive the prompt for account recovery:

  1. Click Sign In
  2. Click Forgot Username or Password?
  3. Enter username (not email or phone number) and click Send Verification Code
  4. Click Recover Your Account at the bottom of the next screen

Note. If you're using the TaxAct Desktop products (Consumer or Professional), the account recovery option isn't available. You will need to create a new account.
