Once you have completed the Federal Q&A process, the next step is to complete your state return.

TaxAct® State Editions become available in January each year. Answer a few state-specific questions and your state return is finished, too.

Check State Release Dates

To prepare your State Return, do the following:

• Click State. On smaller devices, click in the upper left-hand corner, then choose State.
• Click Add State
• Choose your State and click Continue
• Answer a few state-specific questions

To prepare multiple state returns, return to the State Q&A, choose another state, and then repeat the process.
