How to Disable your Pop-up Blocker

TaxAct Online uses pop-up windows in various places throughout the program as you prepare and file your tax return. If you are using "pop-up blocker" software that prevents additional browser windows from opening, you may need to exclude 'www.TaxAct.com' from the blocked sites list in order to complete your tax return.

For help with this, find your internet browser in the list below and follow all steps:

Netscape

  1. Click Security Center at the bottom right of the browser window and choose the Popup Blocking option.
  2. Review settings and make necessary changes.

Opera

  1. Click the Tools menu at the top of the browser window and choose Preferences
  2. Click Pop-Ups and then click the drop down arrow. Click Show All Popups.

In some cases, a box will appear in the upper right corner when a pop-up is blocked. Click the box to allow the pop-up.

Google Toolbar

Click the pop-up blocker button on the Google toolbar after you have logged into TaxAct Online.

Norton Internet Security

  1. Open Norton Internet Security.
  2. Double-click Ad Blocking.
  3. Disable Turn on Pop-up Window Blocking.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Restart your computer.

Other pop-up blockers (Including Netscape 7, the Yahoo Toolbar, and the MSN Toolbar)

Add www.TaxAct.com to a list of trusted sites.

Third Party Blockers

Click each icon in your System Tray located by the clock in the lower-right corner of your screen. Close or temporarily disable any programs that are installed to block popup windows.

You will need to consult the documentation that came with the popup blocker program installed on your system as we are unable to advise how to disable every manufacturer's software product.
