Professional Editions: Client Portals - Downloading Documents

To download select documents from your clients (taxpayers), follow the steps below.

  1. In TaxAct Pro, click the Portals tab.
    • Alternatively, log into My Account and click Client Portals.
  2. Click the Clients tab.
  3. Locate the client in the list and click once to open their Portal details.
    • Tip: You can use the Search bar or click a column header to sort.
  4. Click the Client Files tab.
  5. Select From Client.
    • You can download files that are stored in the To Client or Private folders, as needed.
  6. In the file grid, click the menu to the right of the date column and choose Download.
  7. The file is saved in the save location used by your default web browser, commonly the Downloads folder.

To download a batch of files, click the menu icon directly above the Upload File button and choose Batch or Batch Download.

  • Batch allows you to select files from the list before creating the zip file.
  • Batch Download selects all files in the selected folder and creates a zip file.
