Using Client Portals Messenger, you can:

  • Exchange messages with your client.
  • Export a transcript of your conversation with that client.

To message your client (taxpayer), follow these steps:

  1. In TaxAct Pro, click the Portals tab.
    • Alternatively, log into My Account and click Client Portals.
  2. Click the Clients tab.
  3. Locate the client in the list and click once to open their Portal details.
    • Tip: You can use the Search bar or click a column header to sort.
  4. Click the Messages tab.
  5. Type in the Write your message here… box to send a new message.
    • You can also use the search box to locate a previous message.
    • You can export messages from this client (taxpayer), as needed.
    • A single message is limited to 1,000 characters, including spaces. You can send as many messages back and forth as needed.
    • It is possible to delete a message after it has been sent; however, it will display a “You delete a message” bubble in place of the deleted message.
    • You can edit sent messages.
    • Messages do not expire.
