New Customers

There are multiple options available to accommodate the specific needs of your tax practice. See https://www.taxact.com/professional/products/pricing for detailed package and pricing information.

Once you determine the type of returns you’ll be preparing and how many users you need (Single User or Multi-User), choose the edition or bundle that fits your practice and click Pre-Order. Follow the checkout process to complete your order. You will be prompted to sign into an existing account or create a new account to complete your order.

Returns

If you select 1040 Pay-Per-Return or Business Pay-Per-Return, you will need to purchase returns before you can e-file or print.

You can purchase a return when you file it or contact the Sales team at (319) 536-3571 for bulk-purchasing options. The price per return differs depending on whether you are filing a 1040 return or a business return.

Returns can be used through the end of the calendar year following the filing year.

  • Any returns in the 2025 return bank can be used until December 31, 2027.
  • Any returns in the 2026 return bank can be used until December 31, 2028.

2024 and prior returns use a unit system. Unused tax year 2024 units will expire on December 31, 2026.

Renewing Customers

If you plan to renew the same software you used last year, you can do this from your online account by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to your account on the TaxAct Pro website.
  2. Choose Renew Software.
  3. On the Renewals page, select each product you want to renew by checking the box to the left of the product.
  4. Proceed to the checkout.
