The TaxAct® Online program resides on our servers and all updates are done there. This means you don't need to run program updates or install software on your computer.

To add a state to your return after completing the Federal Q&A:

  1. From within your TaxAct return (Online), click State, then click Add State (on smaller devices, click in the top left corner of your screen, then click State).
  2. Once you add the state to your return, click Continue to continue with the interview process.
  3. To return to the state Q&A, click State, then click the state name or abbreviation.
