Install/Update a State - TaxAct Online

The TaxAct® Online program resides on our servers and all updates are done there. This means you don't need to run program updates or install software on your computer. 

To add a state to your return after completing the Federal Q&A:

  1. On the Should we continue to your state tax return? screen, click Continue.
  2. If you're not taken to this screen, click State in the left column and then click Add State.
  3. If you've already added a state to your return, click Continue to proceed through the questions for each state, or click the state name under the State menu. To add another state to your return, click Add State.
