If you e-file a return again after it was initially rejected, the TaxAct program will prompt you for a credit/debit card number even though you paid the first time you filed.

You will not be charged again if:

  • the primary identification number hasn't changed (Social Security Number (SSN) for personal tax returns or Employer Identification Number (EIN) for business tax returns)
  • you are not using a different TaxAct product

If you need to change the primary SSN or EIN due to an initial entry error, our billing process identifies it as an additional return, and you will be charged again.  If this happens, enter your payment information so that your return can be filed.  Go to our Contact TaxAct Service & Support webpage to contact us and request a refund for the rejected return.
