Bank Routing Number and Account Number Location
1

If you want to receive your refund via direct deposit, you’ll need to provide your bank routing number and account number.

See below for an example of where this information appears on the checks issued from your bank.

If you’re unsure about which numbers to enter, call your bank.

If the wrong information was entered on the return, bank account information can’t be changed once a return has been submitted. If you entered your banking information incorrectly, a check will be sent to the mailing address you provided when you filed your return.

To correct banking information on a rejected return:

  1. Click Filing and repeat the filing steps.
  2. On the screen titled E-Filing - Federal Refund Options, click Direct Deposit.
  3. Fix the error and complete the remaining steps.
  4. Click Submit to resubmit the return.
