Copies of tax returns from year 2019 to present are available through your TaxAct online program. If you need a copy for a return prior to 2019, contact the IRS at 1.800.829.1040.

You’ll need to know the tax year, username, and password used when you registered the account. If you forgot your username or password, click the forgot username or password? link on the Sign In screen.

Contact your state (if applicable) to request a copy of the state return.

Since TaxAct desktop returns are stored locally on your computer, we don’t have access to your return files. We advise that you save back-up copies of all your returns on a portable media drive and as printed documents. If you no longer have access to a return, request a copy from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or state tax agency.
