If you have already downloaded and installed TaxAct Desktop or TaxAct Professional Editions, you can check for program updates:

1. From within your TaxAct program, click Online in the upper menu bar, then click Check for Updates.
2. Follow the instructions to choose the federal or state update that you want to complete.

This process will verify that you have the latest version of the program. Your data will not be lost when updating your program.
