The IRS is expecting Form 1095-A and Form 8962 to be included with your return. You would have received Form 1095-A if your health insurance was obtained through a Marketplace. Please visit healthcare.gov to confirm if you or someone on your tax return had Marketplace coverage. Depending on the results of your search, use one of the options below (Marketplace Coverage or No Marketplace Coverage - Form 8962 not required) to review and correct your filing.

  1. From within your TaxAct return, click Deductions & Credits. 
    • On smaller devices, click the menu at the top left corner of your screen, then make your selection.
  2. Click the Medical drop-down.
  3. Click Add beside Affordable Care Act
  4. Complete the rest of the interview process. 
  5. Once complete, click File and go through the steps to resubmit your return.
Classic
  1. From within your TaxAct return, click Federal. 
    • On smaller devices, click the menu at the top left corner of your screen, then make your selection.
  2. Click Health Insurance (Form 1095).
  3. Complete the rest of the interview process. 
  4. Once complete, click Filing and go through the steps to resubmit your return.
Desktop
  1. From within your TaxAct return, click Federal. 
  2. Click Health Insurance (Form 1095).
  3. Complete the rest of the interview process. 
  4. Once complete, click Filing and go through the steps to resubmit your return.

No Marketplace Coverage - Form 8962 not required

  1. From within your TaxAct return, click Resources.
    • On smaller devices, click the menu at the top left corner of your screen, then make your selection.
  2. Under My Return, click Federal Search.
  3. Click the Miscellaneous Topics drop-down, then click the Additional Information for E-Filing drop-down, then click ACA Explanation.
  4. Check the box to attach the statement and click Continue
  5. Click File and go through the steps to resubmit your return.
Classic
  1. From within your TaxAct return, click Federal.
