Indiana - CollegeChoice 529 Education Savings Plans

Per the CollegeChoice 529 Direct website:

CollegeChoice 529 is a Section 529 plan offered by the Indiana Education Savings Authority. If you are an Indiana taxpayer (resident or non-resident, married or individual), you are eligible for a state income tax credit of 20% of contributions to a CollegeChoice 529 account, up to $1,000 credit per year.

While there are many 529 college savings plans available both in Indiana and nationwide, only contributions made to the specific CollegeChoice 529 Education Savings Plan are eligible for this credit.

To complete Schedule IN-529:

  1. From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click State. On smaller devices, click the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner, then select State
  2. Click Indiana
  3. Click Credits & Payments in the middle of the screen to expand the category, then click Offset Credits and then click CollegeChoice 529 Savings Plan Credit
  4. The program will proceed with the interview questions for you to enter or review the appropriate information
