To change your filing status from "Married Filing Joint" to "Head of Household" after importing, you will need to remove any spousal information from your return.
To remove the Social Security Number (SSN):
From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click Federal (on smaller devices, click in the top left corner of your screen, then click Federal).
Click the Basic Information dropdown, then click Filing status.
Select Single, and continue with the interview process to verify whether all spousal information has been removed.
