The print process generates a Portable Document Format (PDF) file that can be viewed, printed, or saved. As all supported browsers now have PDF readers, Adobe Acrobat Reader is not required to print a PDF copy.
IMPORTANT: TaxAct fees must be paid before the return and individual forms can be printed or saved as a PDF (see the Fee Message section below).
For the security of your personal information, a printed or digital copy of your TaxAct Online return is only available after you have signed into your account. You can then print or save a PDF of the return. TaxAct Support cannot mail, fax, or email a paper or electronic copy. For help with your username or password, go to the sign-in page.
You can print your return from the filing section with the mail paper return option. Follow the instructions in the program.
To print your return or individual forms, you must have the TaxAct program and return file on your computer. Then follow the steps below.
You can also print your return from the filing section with the mail paper return option by following the instructions in the program or by going to File > Print Form, Custom Print, or Print Return.
If you no longer have the return file, contact the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 to request a copy. TaxAct does not retain copies of returns that were prepared and e-filed with the TaxAct Desktop program.
If you are mailing your return to the IRS, you should print your return, schedules, and other attachments on standard 8x11 paper. Printing on another size and then cutting the paper may cause problems with processing your return.
