Professional Editions - Updating the Fed EF Status Column

If you have a client with a return that was filed, but the Fed EF (short for Federal E-Filing) Status column is not showing a result on the Client Manager screen, you can update the column.

To update the Fed EF Status column:

  1. From within your TaxAct Professional Edition program, click Clients to view the Client Manager (if it is not already visible).
  2. Right-click the client, then click Update Fed EF Status.

If Update Fed EF Status is greyed out or is not visible in the dropdown that appears, make sure your professional program is updated and that the return is filed.  You can only update one client at a time using this method, the option will be greyed out if you select more than one client.
