TaxAct Professional Edition allows you to lock returns after e-filing, to prevent changes to the data files of filed returns.

To unlock the return:

1. Locate the client in the Client Manager.
2. Right-click the client.
3. Click Unlock Return(s).

To change the general default for this in the program:

1. Click Preparer > Master Information > General to access the Filing/Printing Options section.
2. Check or uncheck Automatically lock returns after E-filing as desired.
