Professional Editions - Password Expiration Notice

In accordance with the IRS guidelines set forth by the IRS Safeguards Program and the Security Summit, TaxAct Professional account passwords expire every 90 days. If you recently received an e-mail notifying you that your password will expire within seven days, you may follow the instructions below.

To reset your password before it expires:

  1. Sign in to your TaxAct account online.
  2. Click My Preferences.
  3. Click Manage beside Password.
  4. Enter your information, then click Update Password.

If your password has already expired:

  1. Go to the Sign in page.
  2. Enter your Username, Mobile phone number, or Email
  3. Click Sign in
  4. Click I Forgot my password.
  5. Follow the steps to set a new password.
