TaxAct uses components of Microsoft's Internet Explorer to display certain content within the TaxAct Profession Edition program, and the sign-in window is one of these instances.

If you receive an error message about this, it indicates that this Internet Explorer component is having difficulty displaying the content of the page, specifically the chat tool we use to offer assistance on the sign-in page.

The message asks if you'd like to continue to run scripts on the page.  Click Yes or No depending on whether you will use the chat tool, and continue with your sign-in. The error message does not affect the operation of the TaxAct program.

Make sure that you have a version of Internet Explorer that is 10 or greater. You will need to upgrade if you do not. Scripts can be blocked by Windows Internet security settings, by plug-ins or ad blockers to the Internet Explorer browser itself, by firewall settings, or by security software.
