Form 1099-B - Import Individual Stock Transactions from Brokerage or Financial Institution

With the stock data import feature, you can import information from certain brokerages and financial institutions. Supported brokerages/institutions and steps vary depending on whether you are working in the online or desktop program. 

Online
To access the stock data import feature, follow the steps below. 
  1. Open the return. 
  2. Go to Federal > Investment Income > 1099 import from Institution
  3. Search for your financial institutions in the list.
  4. Enter the requested information and Continue through the import.

    • Note: Importing from TD Ameritrade will also import the Banking information to use for direct withdrawal/direct debit. Be sure you verify if this is the bank you would like to use in regards.

  4. Choose your brokerages or financial institutions from the drop list. 
  5. Click Continue
  6. Enter the requested information and Continue through the import.

Note. If the brokerage or forms you want to import aren't listed, that indicates we have not yet been authorized by them to import their transactions. If you would like that ability, please contact them directly and make that request to encourage them to allow that to happen.
