You may check the status of your own income tax return filed through TaxAct at our Electronic Filing Status Page.
To obtain your Electronic Filing Status:
This will display the status of your filed return.
Note. If you cannot find your return status:
If you provided an e-mail address in the electronic filing steps, you should receive two e-mails (unless you have a spam filter or an e-mail blocking device that would prevent you from receiving them):
Note that the second e-mail will not arrive until your return has been accepted or rejected by the applicable tax authority.
If it has been more than 24 hours, you have not received an e-mail confirmation, and you do not see your return listed, your return has not been received by our e-file server. Repeat the electronic filing steps to submit your return. If you continue to have difficulties, we encourage you to contact Electronic Filing Support.
If your return has been rejected, see Most Common E-file Error and Rejection Codes or Correct and Resubmit E-files. It is your responsibility to ensure that your return has been accepted by the IRS or state agency.
Preparers using the Professional Edition of TaxAct can check the status of their client returns through our new Professional Reports dashboard within your Practice Manager. You can view the Preparer's Electronic Filing Status page for more information.
The status of your electronically filed return on the TaxAct website comes directly from the acknowledgment by the IRS or state agency; we do not receive any acknowledgment if a return is mailed. We also have no further visibility into the processing of a refund at the IRS or state.
