HD Vest’s 1040 Analyst is compatible with TaxAct Professional software since the 2015 edition. 1040 Analyst is a unique data mining tool that allows you to seamlessly create a customized report for your clients with financial services opportunities based on their tax return data.

To create the export file (.csv):
- Open your TaxAct Professional 1040 Edition and click File > Export Client(s) > Comprehensive 1040 Export.
- In the pop-up, select the clients for whom you'd like to generate a 1040 Analyst report, then click OK.
- In the pop-up window, click Save to export the file to your Desktop as "CompClientInfo.csv".
- Sign into your HD Vest's 1040 Analyst account to upload the file.
Hint: To select all or many clients, click the Select All button in the upper right corner. (You can de-select clients by clicking Clear All).
If you prefer to rename the file or save it to another location, make your selections, then click Save.
A confirmation message will appear when the export is successful.
