Alert - Red Alert - Rejection Protection
1

If your return was rejected due to incorrect AGI/PIN information, you will receive a red alert when trying to resubmit without changing the AGI/PIN information. The alert will not be removed until you make a change in one of the fields.

To bypass the alert, you need to verify your entries in these fields and update them accordingly. If your previously submitted and rejected return indicated you were a "first time filer or did NOT file a 2022 tax return", when resubmitting your return you cannot enter "0" for your AGI and un-check that box. In this case, if you do not have any information from the previous year, the return(s) will need to be printed and mailed.

To paper file your return:

  1. From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click Filing to expand, then click Mail Paper Return. On smaller devices, click in the upper left-hand corner, then click Filing.
  2. Select the appropriate option (Federal and/or State return).
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

This process will prompt you to print the forms necessary to file and the filing instructions for both your federal and state returns.
