The return status, payment status, or preparer assigned to the return, can all be updated manually by right-clicking the return in Client Manager and selecting Edit Client(s) Information. When the box opens to edit the client, those items can be changed by scrolling to the bottom for the section Return Information.

You may also select multiple returns to update simultaneously by using the Ctrl key while clicking returns in Client Manager, using the Shift key with the "mouse" to select a range, or using the Shift and the up or down arrow keys after clicking on the first return.  Once you have selected the client returns you want, right click one of the highlighted returns and select Edit Client(s) Information. You can also use the icon in the upper left above Client Manager with the checkmark for "Edit currently selected client information."
