Professional Editions - Setting Permissions for Preparers Invited to Your Practice
1

Permissions are a feature of multi-user networking available in TaxAct Enterprise Editions.

During the initial setup for each preparer, you have the opportunity to assign permissions. Permissions can also be modified any time through the Preparer > Master Information > Preparers menu. Click the pencil icon next to the Preparer name to modify settings.

Permissions can be set for any of the following:

  • Create, open, or delete new returns
  • Import, export, or print client information
  • E-file/online backup
  • View all clients in practice (can limit preparer access to specified clients only)
  • Edit practice and preparer information
  • Edit client status options
  • Modify directories
  • Change general filing, miscellaneous, and calculation settings
  • Edit master forms
  • Download/install updates
