The problem is that a Windows security prompt is being invoked but doesn't appear through the TaxAct program interface. This prompt appears in Internet Explorer because Microsoft uses it for system-wide settings related to an Internet connection.
Please try this:
- In Internet Explorer, click the Tools menu or the gear icon to open Internet Options or open the Control Panel. You can type "Internet Options" in the Windows search bar on the Start menu.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- In the Settings area, scroll all the way to the bottom to the Security section.
- Uncheck Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode (it's usually the second to last item under Settings).
- Click Apply, then click OK to exit the Internet Options dialog box.
