Federal law requires American Express to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who applies for a Card in order to fight terrorism and money laundering.

What this means for you: When you choose Serve as your refund method, American Express will ask for your name, street address, date of birth, and an identification number such as a Social Security number that Federal law requires us to obtain.

Email address and mobile phone are also required for contact information.
