The TaxAct^® Professional programs start releasing in late October and are updated periodically throughout the filing season. The federal editions released in October are preview editions and do not contain the finalized tax forms. The programs are updated when the final forms are released. You can import your prior year clients with the preview and they will be updated accordingly.

Federal Professional Editions - Released in late October

• Professional Editions 1040 / 1041 / 1065 / 1120 / 1120-S / 990

State Professional Editions - Released in early January

• The state 1040 programs begin releasing in early January and continue to release throughout the month of January. Business and 1041 state programs are released from January to mid-February. For details on individual states, visit the State Program Release Dates web page.

You may download the programs once they are released by signing in to your account. Once you are signed in, you will need to click the Orders and Downloads tile.
