How to create PDFs of last year's returns:

 ATX
  1. In Return Manager, check the box next to the client return(s) you want to create as a PDF.
  2. Click "Returns" in the main menu, then select "Batch Print Marked Returns".
  3. A list of returns will appear in a pop-up window (select additional or deselect returns as needed). Click Batch Print Marked Returns.
  4. In the next window, click Printer Setup and select "Adobe PDF" as your printer. Click OK to close the window, then click Print.
  5. In the next window where you can edit the file location and name, verify that "PDF files (*PDF)" is selected as the "Save as type". Click Save. Repeat this step for each return.

CrossLink for 2015 returns

  1. Click the Setup menu, then Printer Setup. In Printer Settings, check Prompt for Tax Return PDF, then OK.
  2. Open the return you want to create as a PDF. Click Print in the toolbar.
  3. At the bottom of the Print window, click Create PDF copy of the Tax Return. Click Print.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for remaining clients.
  5. Press F2 to go to main screen. Under Printing Queue, select "Tax Returns" to view all clients ready for printing.

CrossLink for 2014 returns

  1. Click the Setup menu, then Printer Setup. In Printer Settings, check Prompt for Tax Return PDF, then OK.
  2. Open the return you want to create as a PDF. Click Print in the toolbar.
  3. At the bottom of the Print window, click Create PDF copy of the Tax Return. Click Print.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for remaining clients.

 Drake

  1. From the main screen, select Print in the toolbar.
  2. In the Return Selector window, check the box next to the client return(s) you want to create as a PDF. Click Print.
  3. Select the client forms, worksheets, etc. for which you want to create PDFs. Click Next.
  4. Select "Adobe PDF" as your printer. Click Print. Edit the file location and name if desired, then click Save.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for remaining clients.

 Intuit Tax Online

  1. Open the client return you want to create as a PDF and click the File Return tab.
  2. Click View/Print Return PDF on the left navigation panel under "Print".
  3. Right click on the blue "View Return PDF" button and select "Save link as...". Edit the file location and name if desired, then click Save.
  4. Repeat the above steps for remaining clients.

 Intuit Lacerte

  1. On the Clients tab, select the client return(s) you want to create as a PDF. Click Print in the main menu.
  2. In the Print Tax Return window, verify "Complete return" is selected.
  3. Select File (PDF) in in "Return Options" section, then click OK.
  4. Edit the file location and name if desired, then click Save.

 Intuit ProSeries Professional

  1. From Homebase, select the return(s) you want to create as a PDF. (Use SHIFT to select blocks of returns and CTRL to select multiple returns.)
  2. Click the File menu, then Create PDF File.
  3. Verify that File (PDF) is checked in the Print area, and check the Filing Copy Forms box.
  4. Click Print.

 Intuit ProSeries Basic

  1. From Homebase, select the client return to create as a PDF. Click the File menu, then Print.
  2. In the bottom right corner of the Filing Copy tab, click Create PDF.
  3. Repeat the above steps for remaining clients.

 TaxSlayer Pro

  1. In the main menu, click Print Returns, then select "Option 1: Print: Individual returns."
  2. Check the box next to each return you want to create as a PDF.
  3. Select number of copies in the print option box. Click OK.
  4. Choose "Adobe PDF" as your printer, then click OK. (Your files will be saved in the "Printer Port".)
  5. Enter a file name and click Save.

TaxWise for 2015 returns

  1. From the File menu, click Print, then select "Print Return(s)".
  2. Check the box next to each 1040 return you want to create as a PDF. Click OK.
  3. In the Print pop-up window, make sure "File Copy" is selected, then click the Print to PDF button on the right.
  4. Modify the file prefix and location where you’d like to save to if desired. Click OK.

TaxWise for 2014 returns

  1. From the File menu, select Classic Print: Classic Print Returns.
  2. Choose Username in the drop down box.
  3. Check the box next to each return you want to create as a PDF.
  4. Select number of copies in the print option box. Click Print to PDF.
  5. Select a prefix and Save.

How to import PDFs into TaxAct 2015 or 2016 Professional 1040 Editions:

  1. In Client Manager, click File. Select "Import", then "Prior Year 1040 PDF Data".
  2. Select the software in which you created the PDFs, the click OK.
  3. Browse to the folder where the PDFs are saved. Select all of the files you’d like to import, then click "Open".
  4. When TaxAct's Quick Convert process is complete, review and edit the imported information. To complete the import, click "Continue". To cancel the import of a return, click "Cancel".

If you don't want to review information for each return, select the checkbox for "Skip review for remaining PDFs", then click "Continue" to complete the import process for all returns.
