Switching to TaxAct Professional Editions is EASY!


With our Data Conversion feature, you can directly convert prior year individual (1040) returns prepared by the following:

  • Intuit ProSeries (Professional & Basic)
  • TaxSlayer Pro
  • TaxWise

You can also create PDFs of prior year individual (1040) returns by importing data from returns prepared by the following:

  • ATX
  • CrossLink
  • Drake
  • ProConnect Online
  • Intuit Lacerte
  • UltraTax

You may also import basic information, such as names, addresses, date of birth, etc., from the previous two years' returns. For further information about our Data Conversion feature, please see Data Conversion Frequently Asked Questions.

What data is imported?


Form 1040/1040SR

  • Taxpayer (and Spouse, if applicable) First Name, Last Name, & Middle Initial, SSN, and Occupation
  • Address - Street, Apt., City, Postal Code, Foreign Country & State/Province

ATX

  1. In the Return Manager, check the box next to the client return(s) you want to create as a PDF.
  2. Click Returns in the main menu, then click Batch Print Marked Returns.
  3. In the next window, click Printer Setup and select Adobe PDF as your printer. Click OK to close the window, then click Print.
  4. In the next window where you can edit the file location and name, verify that PDF files (*PDF) is selected as the "Save as type." Click Save. Repeat this step for each return.

CrossLink

  1. Click the Setup menu, then click Printer Setup. In the Printer Settings, check Prompt for Tax Return PDF, then click OK.
  2. Open the return you want to create as a PDF, then click Print in the toolbar.
  3. At the bottom of the Print window by the "Create PDF copy of the Tax Return" text, click PDF.
  4. The PDF will open in a new window. Save the file with the name and location of your choice.

Drake

  1. From the main screen, click View/Print in the toolbar.
  2. Select the client forms, worksheets, etc. for which you want to create PDFs.
  3. Click the down arrow next to the Print button. Selectk Print Selected Form(s) to PDF documents as your printer.
  4. Click Print. Edit the file location and name if desired, then click Save.

ProConnect Online

  1. Open the client return.
  2. From the File menu, select Create PDF File.
  3. Check the box to choose a copy of the return.
  4. Click Print.
  5. A message will display and show you where the PDF is saved..

Intuit Lacerte

  1. On the Clients tab, select the client return(s) you want to create as a PDF. Click Print in the main menu.
  2. Select Tax Return from the drop-down menu.
  3. In the Print Tax Return window, verify whether Complete return is selected.
  4. Select File (PDF) in the Return Options section, then click OK.
  5. Edit the file location and name if desired, then click Save.
