Individual preparer information can be added and/or modified through the Preparer Master Information dialog box:
  1. Start your TaxAct® Preparer's program
  2. Click Preparer in the top menu (while viewing the Client Manager - not from within an individual return)
  3. Hover your mouse over Master Information and click Preparers
  4. Click on the Preparers tab and then select:
    • Add New Preparer to add a new preparer
    • Edit (after selecting a specific preparer listed) to modify a preparer
    • Delete (after selecting a specific preparer listed) to remove a preparer
    • Using the drop-down menu for Default Preparer (after selecting a specific preparer listed) will result in that preparer being listed on any new client return created
  5. Clicking Add or Edit will bring up the Preparer Information dialog box where there are two tabs available:
    • Preparer Info
      • Name
      • A Checkbox to use Practice Information or
      • A field to enter Practice Name (if self-employed) and another box for EIN
      • Address
      • Phone
      • Fax
      • Email Address
      • Social Security Number (SSN)
      • Preparer's Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
      • Preparer's Employer Identification Number (EIN)
      • Preparer State ID Number (LA, NM, NY or OR returns only)
      • Preparer NY Exclusion Code (NY 1040 and 1065 returns only)
      • IRS may discuss client returns with this preparer check box (for Third Party Designee indication)
      • Third Party Designee PIN
      • CAF Number (Power of Attorney)
    • Electronic Filing Info
      • Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN)
      • PIN Type (Self-Select or Practitioner)
      • Practitioner PIN for Electronic Signature
      • Bank Product Selection ("None" is default)
      • Republic Bank Identification Number (RBIN)
      • Credit Card Information
      • Billing Address
