Professional Editions - Rebuilding Client Manager Information
1

When you rebuild your Client Manager (Ctrl + Alt + Shift + P) you are asked if you wish to transfer your Preparer Master Form Data into the client returns. If you select this option and the data does not populate after the rebuild, you will need to check your master form information.

From the menu bar, select Preparer > Master Information > Master Form Data and then choose the correct type of return. Then review the information in that file. If it is not correct then your master information file is not correct. If you have backed up your master data file then you can use the restore feature to restore that file. If it has not been backed up then you will need to re-enter the master data and copy the updated information to your clients.

To re-apply master form data to clients, select Preparer > Master Information > Copy Master Form Data to Client(s) from the menu bar. You can also right-click on any client in the Client Manager, then hover over Master Information to see the same pop-out menu with the Copy Master Form Data command at the bottom. Once you select this, you will be given the option to select returns, and then to select which master form information to copy.

The master information is stored in the prXXmaster.dat file where XX stands for the tax year (for example for 2017 the file would be named pr17master.dat). This file should be located in the client data folder.  If it has been moved to another location, this may be the reason why the information has been lost.
