IRS Reject Codes - R0000-902-01
1

If your return is rejected with IRS rejection code R0000-902-01, the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) for the primary taxpayer has already been used on a return filed with the IRS. In most cases, the taxpayer's social security number (SSN) was entered incorrectly.

To fix this error and refile:

  1. From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click Basic Info. On smaller devices, click in the upper left-hand corner, then click Basic Info.
  2. Click the Review tab, then note the Social Security Number column in the information displayed. If the SSN displayed does not match the information on your social security card (or your spouse's), then click the applicable Edit on the right to correct the information.
  3. After fixing any errors, click Filing down the left, then repeat the steps to e-file your return. You have not resubmitted until you click Submit.

If you don't find any errors, contact the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 to verify whether your information matches their file.
