Status - Entering "Blind" or "Disabled" in Program

The disability status information is transferred to other parts of your TaxAct return:
on Schedule R, Credit for the Elderly or the Disabled, to identify if an individual may be classified as disabled,
in the Earned Income Credit (EIC) calculation to help determine if an individual can be claimed on another return and for the question on the EIC worksheet, or
on some state returns that have special deductions or credits for individuals who are permanently and totally disabled.
To enter or modify either the taxpayer's or spouse's blind or totally disabled status in your TaxAct return, follow the steps below.
Online
Dashboard
From within your TaxAct return, click About.
On smaller devices, click the menu at the top left corner of your screen, then make your selection.
Check or uncheck Legally blind, permanently disabled, or passed away, and continue with the interview process to enter your information.
Classic
From within your TaxAct return, click Federal.
On smaller devices, click the menu at the top left corner of your screen, then make your selection.
Click the Basic Information drop-down, then click Name.
Check or uncheck Legally blind, permanently disabled, or passed away, and continue with the interview process to enter your information.
Desktop
From within your TaxAct return, click Federal.
Click the Basic Information drop-down, then click Name.
Check or uncheck Legally blind, permanently disabled, or passed away, and continue with the interview process to enter your information.
