If your filing status is married filing separately, to access the Q&A screen in the TaxAct® program to answer the question regarding if you lived with your spouse during the year:
 

1. From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click Federal. On smaller devices, click the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner, then select Federal.
2. Click Basic Information to expand the category and then click Filing Status
3. Click Continue and if the status selected was Married filing separately then on the next screen you will see a check box that can be checked or unchecked, as appropriate, Check here if you lived apart from your spouse the entire year
