Filing Status - Entering in Program

To select or change the filing status in your TaxAct® return:

  1. From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click Federal. On smaller devices, click in the upper left-hand corner, then click Federal.
  2. Click Basic Information in the Federal Quick Q&A Topics menu to expand, then click Filing status.
  3. Select your filing status, then click Continue.

Note. If you are not sure of the appropriate filing status for your situation, click the TaxTutor Guidance link on the right, then click Filing Status to help you identify the appropriate filing status.
