Filing Status - Entering in Program

To select or change the filing status in your TaxAct® return:

  1. From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click Federal. On smaller devices, click the menu icon in the upper left-hand corner, then select Federal.
  2. Click Basic Information to expand the category 
  3. Click Filing Status
If you are not sure of the appropriate filing status for your situation, click on the IRS Form Instructions link on the right side of the screen to help you identify the appropriate filing status.
