See below for steps on entering the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividends (PFD). Per IRS Publication 550, "Alaska Permanent Fund dividends. Do not report these amounts as dividends. Instead, include these amounts on Schedule 1 (Form 1040), line 8g.”

Dashboard

  1. From within your TaxAct return, click Income
    • On smaller devices, click in the upper left-hand corner, then click Income.
  2. Click Explore More, then next to Other Income click Add.
  3. Continue with the interview process.
  4. On the screen titled Other Income, enter the amount of Alaska Permanent Fund dividends received by the taxpayer and/or the spouse, then click Continue. 

Classic

  1. From within your TaxAct return, click Federal
    • On smaller devices, click in the upper left-hand corner, then click Federal.
  2. Click Other Income in the Federal Quick Q&A Topics menu to expand, then click Prizes, awards or other miscellaneous income.
  3. Continue with the interview process to enter all of the appropriate information.
  4. On the screen titled Miscellaneous - Amounts Received, enter the amount of Alaska Permanent Fund dividends received by the taxpayer and/or the spouse, then click Continue.

Desktop

  1. From within your TaxAct return, click Federal
  2. Click Other Income in the Federal Quick Q&A Topics menu to expand, then click Prizes, awards or other miscellaneous income.
