Dependents - Entering Information in Program

To enter or modify dependent information in your TaxAct® return:

  1. From within your TaxAct return (Online or Desktop), click Federal (on smaller devices, click in the top left corner of your screen, then click Federal).
  2. Click the Basic Information dropdown, then click Dependents and other qualifying persons.
  3. Click + Add a Dependent to enter a new dependent or click Edit to edit dependent information already in the return (desktop program: click Review instead of Edit).  To delete a dependent, click the trash can icon, then click OK.
  4. Continue with the interview process to enter your information.
