Changing the "Claimed as Dependent on Someone Else's Return" Entry

You can locate the question regarding whether you can be claimed on someone else's tax return using the steps below.
Online
Dashboard
From within your TaxAct return, click About.
On smaller devices, click the menu at the top left corner of your screen, then make your selection.
Click the Edit beside your name.
As you go through the interview process, verify details, then on the screen Can you be claimed as a dependent?,check or uncheck the box I can be claimed as a dependent on someone else's return.
Classic
From within your TaxAct return, click Federal.
On smaller devices, click the menu at the top left corner of your screen, then make your selection.
Click the Basic Information drop-down, then click Dependent on someone else's tax return.
On the screen Can you be claimed as a dependent?,check or uncheck the box I can be claimed as a dependent on someone else's return.
Desktop
From within your TaxAct return, click Federal.
Click the Basic Information drop-down, then click Dependent on someone else's tax return.
On the screen Can you be claimed as a dependent?, check or uncheck the box I can be claimed as a dependent on someone else's return.
