E-Filing - Responsibility for Timely Filing of Return
1

Electronic filing (E-filing) services for the TaxAct® program become available in early January of each tax season. Ultimately, the taxpayer is responsible for ensuring that their return is timely filed. We automatically generate an email to you when we receive your return submission, and again when the IRS or state accepts or rejects the return. We also have links on our website for you to be able to verify we received your return and check your status just in case you or your ISP have blocked the email. If you have any tax due and have not paid the IRS or state on or before the due date of return (without extension), the IRS or state may assess penalties and interest in addition to the tax that is due.
