California - State AGI/PIN rejection

If your California return is rejected due to a mismatch of the AGI and PIN information you still have the opportunity to make changes to get the return accepted.

To correct the California rejection for your AGI/PIN mismatch you have two options:

Option 1: You may contact the California Franchise Tax Board at 1-800-852-5711 to obtain the correct information recorded to enter on your return. If you choose this option you may need to file the state return by itself. In this case, be sure to complete all steps of the filing process in TaxAct, clicking the Submit button to submit the corrected return.

Option 2: You may simply repeat the filing process for the state only and indicate you did not file your return on or before November 15th of the previous year. This will allow you to print and complete the California e-file return authorization form, FTB 8453-OL. You will then need to complete the e-filing steps again to submit the return electronically.
