TaxAct offers professional preparers the option to electronically file client returns in batches. To send multiple client e-files, you would choose the Submit Later option during the electronic filing steps for each return. TaxAct will then indicate that the e-file record has been created.
You can find the e-file records here - XX represents the last two digits of the tax year:
Directory | Program folder | Full file path |
EFILES | Client Data | C:\TaxACT\TaxACT 20XX Professional Edition\Client Data\[Practice ID]\EFILES [or EFiles] |
If you use the Enterprise online networking option, the location will be:
Directory | Program folder | Full file path |
EFILES | Client Data | C:\TaxACT\TaxACT 20XX Professional Edition\Client Data\[Practice ID]\Online\EFILES |
When ready to send the returns that you designated to e-file later:
Note. If you pay for e-filing per return, your credit card is charged at the time you click Submit Later.
IMPORTANT. If a return is modified after you clicked Submit Later, you must go through the filing steps again to prepare the return for filing. Whether you submit the return then or click Submit Later again, the previous e-file record will be replaced. You can also delete e-file records from the same Submit Client E-Files command on the Preparer menu.
