Locating the Desktop TaxAct Version

TaxAct Online Editions update automatically, so you will always have the latest version of the software.

TaxAct Desktop Editions must be updated manually, so you may need to check to see if you are running the latest version.

To check the version of your TaxAct federal or state program:

  1. From within your TaxAct desktop program, click Help in the upper menu bar.
  2. Click System Information.
  3. Your federal and state version(s) will be listed below the System Information heading.
