Blank Data Remove Space

If there are spaces remaining in any of the fields, the TaxAct desktop program interprets those spaces as data (even though you do not see any letters or numbers in that field).

To ensure empty fields don't have spaces in them:

  1. From within your TaxAct return (Desktop or Professional), click the data entry field (if a blue highlight appears, that means there are spaces).
  2. Press delete or backspace on your computer keyboard, then press the enter key on your keyboard.
  3. Repeat the steps above for all of the fields that need to be cleared.
